at the high speed rail station with tickets
We went to a curry shop for lunch. So many different types to choose from!! I wanted to eat all of them T_T. They looked so good =P. While we were waiting for our food, me and Christabel had a picture taking party - although I think she won out in the end by taking the most pictures. I think Hsiou-hsiou wanted to hide and pretend he didn't know us because we were being such tourists. We knew deep down he wanted to take pictures too.
We met up with Hsiou-Hsiou's high school classmate and made our way to the first cua bing shop of the trip. Mango ice with an ice cream scoop! Om nom nom =P This shop is famous for all the people writing on the pillars around the shop as seen on the following photo.
we passed by some places where there were red flowers - apparently they're associated with graduation because of the time of the year they bloom
Next, we boarded a boat that takes motorcyclists and pedestrians down the river. We passed by the Kaohsiung light house where our next stop was.
After the beach, we ate some BBQ squid kabob things, and roamed around eating all the town's cheap food - xiao long bao [小龍包], and the special local foods around. We said bye to Hsiou-hsiou's friend and took a walk along the Love River. This time, there were not pretty lights and lanterns of tigers like there was around the Chinese New Year, but it was still pretty cool.
The next day, we went to see a butterfly garden and the lake next to it.
After getting bitten by bugs, we went to a big mall that had a sort of amusement park on the roof. There was a foosball tournament going on a couple floors down.
